After being extracted from the cacao bean, the cocoa butter is deodorized to reduce the strong natural chocolate aroma and carries an near-white to pale yellow hue. This results in an organic cocoa butter with a much milder scent than natural cocoa butter. Deodorized cocoa butter still exhibits a mild chocolate aroma, but not as powerful and will have less of an impact on the formulated end product.
Cocoa Butter is known for its high oxidative stability as a result of it being naturally rich in antioxidants and vitamin E.
With a typical melting point ranging from 88 deg F to 95 deg F, Cocoa Butter is a stiff solid at room temperature.
From a cosmetic and skin care application standpoint, Organic Cocoa Butter is used for its natural emollient properties and to bring stiffness to the end product.

Directions: Apply as desired to soften dry skin, provide a smoother-looking appearance and soothe irritation. For aromatherapy applications, gently melt cocoa butter on stove top using a double boiler than blend with essential oils. Store in closed container in a cool, dry place, Cocoa butter is not prone to rancidity, but natural color variations may occur.
