Andrographis has a long history of use in both Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine. It is a very bitter remedy and is used to promote healthy immune function.

Suggested Usage:

   For common cold: andrographis 300mg and 400 mg eleuthero has been taken three times daily.

   For osteoarthritis: 1200 mg daily for 12 weeks.

   For infection of the throat and tonsils (tonsillopharyngitis): 6 grams daily.

   For a type of inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis): 3000 mg daily for 8 weeks.

Precautions: Drug Interactions: Andrographis seems to decrease blood pressure. Taking andrographis along with medications for high blood pressure might cause your blood pressure to go too low. increases the immune system. By increasing the immune system, andrographis might decrease the effectiveness of medications that decrease the immune system. Taking andrographis along with medications that also slow clotting might increase the chances of bruising and bleeding.

Side effects such as loss of appetite, diarrhea, vomiting, rash, headache, runny nose, and fatigue. When used in high doses, andrographis might cause swollen lymph glands, serious allergic reactions, elevations of liver enzymes, and other side effects.
