TKP is known for its features as a foaming and whipping agent as well as an emulsifier.
In the food industry it is known as a food additive for emulsifying, foaming and whipping other ingredients.
It can be combined with fatty acids for use as a potential antimicrobial agent in poultry processing. Found in cooked and cured meats, milk and cream products and drinking chocolate.
Increased pH makes the product more creamy or yellow in color giving a richer appearance. In addition, the high alkalinity of this chemical is advantageous when faster cooking rates are desirable in cooked breakfast cereals.
In personal care products it is used in shaving cream and hand soaps.
Used in photographic (silver halide) processing. It has been promoted as a useful alkali by amateur photographers.
Also it is used as a fertilizer on farms and other areas of agriculture. Used in the pharmaceutical and papermaking industries as well.
